There's no denying that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are considered by fans as the unsung heroes of the Star Wars franchise thanks to the creation of The Mandalorian. But aside from the dynamic duo, one person is also credited for the success of the MandoVerse and that is Bryce Dallas Howard who directed two episodes of the hit Disney+ series.

The positive feedback she gained was more than enough reason for Lucasfilm to bring back the Jurassic World Dominion actress to do more directorial work and earlier this year, Bryce made her return to the franchise, helming an episode of The Book of Boba Fett.

There's been an ongoing talk within the Star Wars fandom about Bryce directing her own feature-length film and it turns out that the former Marvel star is well aware of the fan movement.

In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Howard admitted that she's interested in directing her own film but she's not sure if a Star Wars film project is in her future. She said: "I honestly have no idea! The support is incredibly moving. I was on a work session with Jon Favreau when this was announced — I'm like, 'Oh, I could say yes, I did another episode!'"

She continued: "I'll get choked up, he's just the most wonderful man. He was like, 'Bryce, we were at Celebration and people were so supportive.' He got choked up talking about how people were so embracing of me. Papa Jon! I feel so lucky the way folks have been, because I love getting to do this."

It'll be interesting to see if Lucasfilm will actually pull the trigger and let Howard get a shot at directing her own Star Wars film. Of course, directing a TV show is far different from helming an actual film but I think we've already established that she's capable and she knows her stuff.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to premiere in February 2023 on Disney+.
