Brie Larson Teases A Bonkers Plot For Captain Marvel’s Sequel

After Captain Marvel star Brie Larson posted an image that hints that the Captain Marvel sequel is now done filming, fans can't wait on what Captain Danvers' new journey will be all about.

Brie Larson made her debut as Carol Danvers a.k.a Captain Marvel in 2019 and was widely regarded as one of the strongest Avengers after her launch. Captain Marvel made her second appearance in Avengers: Endgame rescuing Tony Stark from space and also introducing herself as a substantial role for MCU’s Avengers especially when she almost single-handedly outpowered the Mad Titan, Thanos, at the final battle of Avengers: Endgame. She also made a very quick cameo as Captain Marvel on 2021’s Shang-chi: The Legend of Ten Rings featuring the other Avengers.

Now, The Marvels is confirmed to be Captain Marvel’s new solo sequel. Alongside Larson, she will be joined by Teyonah Parris as Ms. Marvel and Wandavision’s Teyonah Parris who will reprise her role as Monica Rambeau. The Korean star Park Seo-Joon is also rumored to be joining the sequel and Samuel L. Jackson is also set to return as Nick Fury.

Though the plot is still unknown, Larson gives us some subtle hints on what The Marvels will be all about. While Praising director Nia DaCosta, Larson discussed her feelings toward the sequel rather than talking about the plot or characters’ involvement in the film.

“I feel it’s like, I wish I could talk about it. I can talk about my feelings around it. I can say that… I can’t say enough about how incredible our director, Nia DaCosta, is and what an honor it was to work with her, what an immense talent she is, how much I just feel like she’s the future. And I could also say that when I read the script for the first time, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I was like, this is bonkers.”

The actress also explained how the fans will be ‘delighted’ once the sequel comes out.

“And it’s the thing that I love about Marvel, is that they continue to reinvent. They continue to do the thing that you just would never think would be possible in these films. And they’re not afraid to go there. So I’m super excited about what we did. I think there are some huge personal achievements of mine that I’m really excited about sharing, but you know, it’s fun to have a bit of a secret. And it’s fun to know that, when this film comes out, people are going to be delighted. And I get to keep that to myself for a little bit longer.”

Though Captain Marvel’s debut in 2019 was heavily criticized by fans and film critics, it looks like the MCU should aim to redeem Captain Marvel’s legacy.

While The Marvels is pushing through the release date of February 17, 2023, for this year, the Marvel Cinematic Studios will be giving us the highly-anticipated film, Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness that will premiere on May 6, 2022.
