Bridgerton Season 2 Character Posters Reveal Fresh and Familiar Faces

Netflix has released new character posters for Bridgerton Season 2, introducing 11 new and returning characters that you'll be seeing in the upcoming new episodes. Releasing on the streaming platform in just a few weeks, Bridgerton 2 Season 2 features a brand new love story after the massive success of its first season.

Created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes, the romantic period drama, based on Julia Quinn's novels set in the competitive world of Regency era London, first premiered in December 2020, and it quickly became one of Netflix's most popular original shows of all time. Thanks to the success of the show, Bridgerton was renewed for three more seasons.

While the first season focused on the romance between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), Bridgerton Season 2 will turn its sights to another sibling's search for a desired match. Eldest child Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) will be romancing with the ton's newest member, Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).

Bailey, Ashley, and the rest of the Bridgerton cast are featured in a series of new posters shared by Netflix. In addition to showing returning players like Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), the posters put a extra focus on the two new characters: Kate and her sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran).

Clearly, Anthony Bridgerton will have his hands full with the Sharma sisters, making for an interesting love triangle for the drama to explore. Outside of the eldest Bridgerton sibling's story, the new season promises to have enough intrigue for the rest of its cast. The finale of Season 1 revealed that Penelope is the mysterious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown, so it looks like we will be seeing more of her in Season 2 as teased by the trailer.

“Dearest Gentle Reader,” the teaser begins, narrated by Julie Andrews, who voices Lady Whistledown. She then goes on to say that as the search to figure who she is has escalated, she's been "honing my skills — no, even better: I’ve been sharpening my knives.”

Daphne is nowhere to be seen in the new posters, but she is set to play a smaller role in Season 2.
