Based on the series of popular novels by Julia Quinn of the same name, the show's unique take on the Regency era in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland has viewers craving for more.

Bridgerton Season 1 follows the story of Daphne Bridgerton in her quest to find ever-lasting love. The ups and downs the aristocrat went through to find her true love held out attention and when she did find love with the Duke of Hastings, it was surreal not only for Daphne but to the viewers as well.

According to Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, the producers of the show had an alternate ending for Bridgerton Season 1. Coughlan revealed that the alternate ending circulates around Lady Whistledown's identity.

Lady Whistledown has been branded as one of the most interesting characters in the show. She was sort of the Gossip Girl during that era, revealing scandalous tidbits that had everyone on their toes. Even the Queen herself could not help but be interested in Lady Whistledown's claims.

During Netflix's TUDUM event, where Nicol Coughlan was one of the guests, she revealed that the alternate ending was to drop a hint on who Lady Whistledown was, and all fingers would point to Cressida Cowper. But, during the reshoots, the producers and the director of Bridgerton settled on keeping the identity of Lady Whistledown a secret till the very end.

Coughlan said:

"It was a reshoot in July, so they had filmed a different ending. They were going to make it seem like it was Cressida Cowper."

Now that the hype surrounding the first season of Bridgerton has ended, Netflix has announced that Bridgerton Season 2 will be dropping real soon. Still, the story for the second season is lifted from Julia Quinn's book titled The Viscount Who Loved Me.

The upcoming Bridgerton Season 2 will follow Daphne's older brother, Anthony Bridgerton, and his journey of finding his true love. Recently, Netflix has released new photos via Twitter of Anthony's love interest.
