Brad Pitt has been sober for five years. The actor decided to change his lifestyle following his divorce from Angelina Jolie. During a previous interview, Pitt credited his sobriety to his friend, Bradley Cooper.
While speaking with the New York Times in 2019, Brad Pitt said that he decided to remove his drinking privileges after he became addicted to alcohol. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor also spent over a year in Alcoholics Anonymous, and this helped him abstain from drinking.
Brad Pitt Has Been Struggling Since His Divorce From Angelina Jolie
Us Weekly, in its Dec. 20 issue, claimed that the past couple of years has been very challenging for Pitt. So, there have been several instances wherein he struggled to stay sober.
For a time, Pitt relied on alcohol to drown his sorrows amid his divorce and his ongoing custody battle with Jolie.
“His marriage to Angelina was over, and he had been drowning his sorrows in alcohol. It rendered him incapable of thinking straight or acting coherently. He didn’t feel comfortable going to rehab, but he had someone living at home with him and a doctor on standby to help him with the
withdrawal effects,” an unnamed source said.
Luckily, the actor reportedly had a strong support system which includes his first ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, as well as court-appointed psychologist, Dr. Stanley Kaz, who has nothing but wonderful things to say about Pitt.
Brad Pitt Wants To Reconcile With Angelina Joli
Throughout the past five years, Pitt has also, reportedly, been doing some soul-searching. So, the Ad Astra actor knows that he made some mistakes during his marriage to Aniston and Jolie.
Pitt is thrilled that he and Aniston are now good friends, and he hopes to have an amicable relationship with Jolie one day.
“Brad hopes that one day they’ll be able to find a way to forgive each other and move on for the sake of the kids at least,” the unnamed source said.

Is Brad Pitt Ready To Fall In Love Again?
Pitt is also, allegedly, open to dating again. But he couldn’t deny the fact that he’s also scared to open up to a woman because of his failed marriages with Aniston and Jolie.
“Brad would love to date again. The trouble is, he’s hesitant to open himself up. He’s been through so much pain and suffering and he’s worried about being hurt. Brad’s plan is to take things one day at a time and enjoy as much time with his kids as he possibly can,” the unnamed source concluded.
Two years ago, Pitt reflected on his mistakes while speaking with Interview magazine. The dad of six realized that he needed to go through all his struggles to get him to where he is today.
“I’m realizing as a real act of forgiveness for myself for all the choices that I’ve made that I’m not proud of, that I value those missteps, because they led to some wisdom, which led to something else. You can’t have one without the other. I see it as something I’m just now getting my arms around at this time in my life,” he said.
Pitt also said that he decided to become clean after he realized that it was such a disservice to himself.
As of late, Pitt has opened his heart for love again ever since his split from Jolie. In fact, the actor previously joked about being linked to every single woman that he’s photographed with.
It’s unclear if Pitt dated Nicole Poturalski two years ago. And if they did date, their relationship didn’t last very long.
