The nine finalists of the Mnet survival show Boys Planet announced that its project boy group would debut as ZEROBASEONE/ZB1.

Mnet launched the most recent survival show following the success of the Produce franchise. The audition shows gave birth to project groups I.O.I, IZ*ONE, Wanna One, and X1.

After the 12-week selection, the show chose nine out of 98 contestants who would debut soon.

Boys Planet Finalists To Debut in ZEROBASEONE/ZB1

The Korea Times cited the official press release by WAKEONE, confirming that the new project boy group from Boys Planet will debut this year. However, it has not disclosed the exact debut date yet.

People from 184 countries and regions cast 9.4 million votes in the final stage to pick the ZB1 members," WAKEONE said.

Before the official debut, ZEROBASEONE will perform at KCON Japan 2023 on May 13 to 14 in Chiba, Japan. The show will become the first official event for the nine winners — Park Gun Wook, Han Yu Jin, Seok Matthew, Kim Ji Woong, Kim Tae Rae, Ricky, Zhang Hao, Kim Gyu Vin, and Sung Han Bin.

ZB1 will be active for two and a half years.

All nine members expressed their gratitude to fans who supported them in their journey. They also pledged to repay the love and support everyone offered them.

Korea JoongAng Daily confirmed that 50 percent of the tally came from viewers residing in Korea, while the other 50 percent was from the votes made by international fans.

Fans Upset After PENTAGON Hui Failed To Make It to Debut List

Amid the celebration, some fans expressed their dismay on Twitter after PENTAGON Hui did not make it to the finalists' list. Among the comments read:

“please don't fall for mnet evil editing. they want to make him look bad and ruin his reputation . But he's an amazing human being, always trying his best, because he loves to perform on stage. Please support our hui.”
“Hui deserved to debut, he deserved to bring attention towards pentagon, he’s been working hard for so many years just to be eliminated because he was overly talented or because of his AGE. you guys make me f**king sick. im serious f**k all of you hui antis.”
“ok y’all are allowed to feel sad abt hui not debuting in whatever the group name is but oh my god pleaseeeeee stop discrediting pentagon and acting like huis career is entirely gone.”
