What Happened Before Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 270?
In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 269, titled The Sneaking Shadow, Hana sensei is in the hospital, and the class visits her bringing gifts and well wishes.
Meanwhile, Shikamaru is angry with Kawaki for not reporting the appearance of the assassin resulting in Kawaki being removed by Naruto from the case, and Sai and the police having to look for the assassin.
As for Kae, she prepares to go back to the Land of Bamboo. Before she goes away, Kawaki and Himawari ask for Eiki's help to catch the assassin.
Kae now knows about Kawaki's mission, but she wants to hear it personally from him.
Meanwhile, Himawari discovers that Kae's butler, Batora, was at the festival despite him saying he didn't attend it.
Kawaki and Himawari deduce that Batora is complicit with the assassins, and when they arrive, they see Batora wounded by the assassin. Kawaki storms off the assassin.
It turns out that Batora did some investigating himself about Kae's enemies and that the villain was already there.
Batora found out that the mastermind is the guardian of Kae's stepbrother.
When Naruto learns about what Kawaki did, he sets aside the fact that Kawaki didn't report to him.
