Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 71, titled Hindrance, was released today, June 20, and if you're wondering what happens after that cliffhanger ending from last month's chapter, you'll finally get an answer, and a major reveal that fans will surely be talking about until the release of the next chapter.

In the latest chapter, the former Kara scientist Amado is able to escape death from Code after he tells Eida that he has something to say about Kawaki. Despite Eida's multiple warnings not to interfere, Code tries to kill Amado, but before he can kill him, Eida commands Daemon to stop Code, forcing the powerful villain to escape with Bug.
After Code leaves the Kara hideout, Amado begins to explain why Kawaki is the "Ace up my sleeve". He reveals to Eida that he planted something else in Kawaki other than the karma: A unique emergency shutdown command code that only Amado can use. "It's Konoha's job to manage Kawaki, but this concerns the other villages too, so he's Konoha's number one priority," Amado says. "Meaning they have no choice but to rely on me."
Amado went on to explain that the shutdown function is just an "insurance to protect my standing in the village", and that his real objective is different. He says that Kawaki's karma is necessary to achieve it.
However, when Eida asks him about his real objective, Amado just tells her that "it's a long story" and that it's something that she will have to tell Konoha as well, so she'll have to wait.

Some fans are already speculating that Amado's main objective is to bring his daughter back to life or use Kawaki's body as a vessel for his dead daughter. However, there is also a theory that claims that Eida is actually Amado's daughter or modeled after her.
