While fans will need to wait a while before new chapters of the manga get released, they were treated to the Boruto Volume 20 cover art reveal which features Boruto and Kawaki facing off.
The next upcoming Boruto manga volume will be released in a few weeks, and ahead of its launch, the official cover art was shared on the Naruto series Twitter account.
Based on the chapters that will be compiled in this volume, Boruto and Kawaki’s fight is pretty much the perfect cover for this upcoming release.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is Currently on Hiatus
Ever since the Boruto manga began, fans have always had to wait a month before a new chapter as the manga has a monthly release schedule. This is unlike the original Naruto anime which was serialized weekly.
Recently, the Boruto manga went on a three-month-long hiatus. As the last chapter was released in April, the next Boruto chapter will be released this August.
While this is quite a long break for the series’ standards, fans can at least look forward to the fact that the next chapter will introduce a brand-new arc.
Since the manga began in 2016, the series has been mostly consistent with its monthly release. In fact, this hiatus is one of the longest of the series to date.
To add to the content drought, the Boruto anime also went into hiatus recently. Though this was likely done so that the anime doesn’t overtake the manga.

Boruto Volume 20 Reveals Cover Art
In this upcoming volume, the cover art depicts Boruto and Kawaki fighting. This isn’t the first time that the two have appeared in a volume cover art, though this might be the most striking one yet given their battle stances.
This next volume is expected to compile chapters 76-80. Given this, it’s likely that the next volume will be released after a couple of months.
But because of the recent manga hiatus, there’s a chance that the following volume releases will be delayed, though there’s no official word on this yet.
Boruto Volume 20 will be released in Japan on June 2, 2023. Right now, there’s no word yet on when this volume will be released in English outside Japan.
Meanwhile, the next Boruto chapter will be released this August in Japan through V Jump magazine. Chapter 81 is also confirmed to release in English through Manga Plus on August 20, 2023.
