As the show’s release inches ever closer, the upcoming Pokemon series just revealed four new voice actors. Among these new Pokemon anime cast members is Yoshino Aoyama, the voice actress of Hitori Gotoh from Bocchi the Rock!
The latest set of cast members was revealed via a new trailer that was uploaded on the official Pokemon YouTube channel.
There, it was shown that the rising VA, Aoyama, is playing an interesting new character.
Aoyama is joined by three others voice actors whom you may know from their previous popular roles.
New Pokemon Anime Announces More Cast Members
This upcoming Pokemon anime might just be the most anticipated one yet. Not only will it take place in the franchise’s newest region of Paldea, but it will also be the first to have new protagonists.
That’s because the long-time main character, Ash Ketchum, will finally retire from his protagonist duties as he has finally achieved his dream of becoming the very best by becoming the Pokemon champion.
While this means we will no longer hear Ash’s voice, the new Pokemon series does feature a surprisingly stacked cast list.
For instance, it was revealed in the latest trailer that Shun Horie will voice the new character, Amejio.
Horie is best known for voicing Kazuya Kinoshita in Rent-A-Girlfriend, as well as Ichiro Suzuki in Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody.
Joining Horie is Arisa Shida (Amanda O’Neill in Little Witch Academia) as Konia, as well as rookie VA Kousuke Tanabe as Jill.
These three VAs will voice members of the mysterious group called Explorers.

Bocchi Voice Actress Joins the Pokemon Cast
Perhaps the biggest recent addition to the show’s voice cast is Yoshino Aoyama, the voice actress of 2022 fan favorite Hitori Gotoh from Bocchi the Rock!
It’s fair to say that Aoyama’s popularity rose sharply since Bocchi, as many fans praised her performance there.
While her popularity has blown up considerably, Aoyama also has other previous roles, including Yoshino Nanase in Wake Up, Girls!
For her latest role, Aoyama will play Kurumin, a popular streamer in the world of Pokemon.
Not much has been revealed about Kurumin so far, but what we do know is that she streams with a Nidorina outfit.
You’ll be able to hear Aoyama’s voice acting in the new Pokemon anime when it premieres on April 14 in Japan with a 1-hour special.
For now, there’s no word yet on which platform it will be released on outside Japan.
