Bob Iger Reportedly Wants Kathleen Kennedy To Leave Lucasfilm

Could Kathleen Kennedy be leaving Lucasfilm?

Ever since Solo: A Star Wars Story was named the Star Wars franchise's first commercial flop, there have been a lot of rumors going around saying that Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy would be stepping down from the studio and giving way to younger leadership.

Though Lucasfilm itself has debunked the rumors that Kennedy would be replaced by Marvel Studios' head honcho, Kevin Feige, it seems like the mill's spinning with another new report about Kennedy leaving Lucasfilm.

According to commentator and film critic Grace Randolph from Beyond the Trailer, unnamed sources at Pinewood studios say that a Disney head honcho Bob Iger called for a conference call with all of Lucasfilm's top executives.

Though quite a number of topics were covered, this unnamed source says that having Kennedy step down from Lucasfilm was one of the most important issues during the conference call. Apparently, Iger was displeased with what was happening at Lucasfilm, especially at the heels of Solo: A Star Wars Story.

However, though many tried to take to vie for the position, one of which reportedly includes Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, Randolph says that no one really stepped up to the plate. According to the YouTube film critic, Kennedy is most likely going to stay as Lucasfilm's President until the best candidate makes themselves apparent.

Though this new report might seem like a pretty big shake-up for the Star Wars franchise, fans, as usual, have to take this report with a grain of salt. Sure it might appease those who've been hating Star Wars: The Last Jedi and all of the changes Lucasfilm has brought to the franchise, but remember that nobody can ever be really certain until Lucasfilm or Disney makes the confirmation themselves.
