Blue Lock Season 2 Confirmed, Episode Nagi Film Announces 6 New Cast Members


It's official: Blue Lock Season 2 has been confirmed. The second season of the sports anime is currently underway along with a spin-off film based on Blue Lock: Episode Nagi. In addition to that, six new cast members have been announced to join the upcoming movie.

Blue Lock Season 2, Episode Nagi Spin-Off Film Announced

An announcement video was dropped right after Blue Lock Episode 24 concluded and it confirms that the anime will return for a second season. The video also reveals that a spin-off film has been given the green light.

Blue Lock Season 2 is currently in production along with Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, the spin-off movie that will focus on Seishiro Nagi before he became a contender for the Blue Lock program.

Nobunaga Shimazaki is set to reprise his role as Seishiro Nagi in the Blue Lock spin-off film. He will be joined by six new cast members who will play important roles in the movie.

The spin-off film will introduce Yuichi Nakamura as Ryusei Shido, Shin Furukawa as Karasu Tabito, Kengo Kawanishi as Kageta Otoya, Takuya Eguchi as Kenyuu Yukimiya, Hiro Shimono as Julian Loki, and Shinichiro Kamio as Leonardo Luna (via Twitter).

Blue Lock: Episode Nagi will be based on the spin-off manga series illustrated by Kota Sannomiya, based on the original Blue Lock manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura.

When Is The Blue Lock Season 2 Release Date?

For now, Blue Lock Season 2 is believed to be in early production and it may take some time to work on the new episodes. Likewise, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi has not yet been given an official release date. Nevertheless, we're expecting to get fresh updates on the anime's return in the next few months.
