After lots of rumors of an upcoming anime, the Shonen Jump manga Blue Box is officially getting an anime adaptation. This was revealed via the anime’s new official website, which went live yesterday.

Along with the website, an official announcement was also made in the latest Weekly Shonen Jump issue in Japan. The reveal came with the confirmation of the show’s two main voice cast members.

Fans will still need to wait a while for more new info, though the recent reveal comes as a surprise given that many expected the announcement to come at Jump Festa this December.

Blue Box Anime Finally Confirmed After Much Speculation

Weekly Shonen Jump is the most well-known shonen manga magazine in Japan and overseas. This is no surprise given that Shonen Jump has been home to the biggest shonen titles like Dragon Ball and One Piece.

Aside from battle shonen, Jump also has a long history of releasing romance manga like Nisekoi and We Never Learn. Currently, the magazine’s premier romance manga is Blue Box, a manga that began serialization in 2021.

Over the last few months, rumors of a Blue Box anime have been swirling online. There were reports of an announcement that will take place at Jump Festa 2024.

What’s more, there were even reports that popular studio CloverWorks (of Bocchi the Rock! and My Dress-Up Darling fame) will work on the series. For now, the studio rumors have been unfounded.

As for the Blue Box anime, it was finally revealed recently along with a teaser visual that features Chinatsu Kano, one of the two main characters.

There’s no trailer for it yet, nor is there info on its studio and format. What was revealed are its two main stars.

Right now, there’s no word yet on a release window for the anime, though fans are hoping to see it air in 2024.

As for the anime’s first trailer, it’s possible that a teaser will be shared at Jump Festa 2024 this weekend. After all, Blue Box has a special stage scheduled at the event.
