We're about to witness the end of an era, folks as the hit action film franchise Fast & Furious is set to bid farewell with the saga wrapping things up with an eleventh and final film. Variety confirms that there are two more installments in the Fast saga, both of which will be helmed by director Justin Lin who made his triumphant return for Fast & Furious 9.

As sad as that may sound, fans need not worry as current plans obviously call for a Fast & Furious universe expansion, and in fact, seeds have already been planted with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Hobbs and Shaw spinoff which did extremely well at the box office. And with the debut of John Cena in the franchise set to take place next year, he could very well be the successor to Vin Diesel's throne who seems to be retiring his FF gig. Who knows, Cena just might be the one to continue the film series and keep its legacy alive.

It's no secret that a lot of fans think that the franchise's magic died following the tragic passing of Paul Walker in 2013 and the succeeding films haven't been as stellar. Now that Dom and his crew are set to conclude the saga, it's the perfect opportunity for them to turns things around and bring back the grandeur of the film series. After all, who doesn't want an epic send-off right? We'll see in the coming films.

Fast & Furious 9 is set to hit cinemas in 2021.
