Bleach Returns With a Special Issue For Its 20th Anniversary

Undoubtedly one of the most popular series in the early 2010s, Bleach returns for the 20th anniversary of the manga of Tite Kubo with a special one-shot issue to commemorate two decades of its existence in the Weekly Shōnen Jump and it will be one lengthy chapter to honor the tenure of one of the best-selling titles of all time.

Bleach has been a household name in manga and when it got an anime adaptation from Pierrot, its popularity grew, even more, making it one of the best-selling titles of all time. The manga was first released in 2001 and concluded in 2016 with 74 chapters which were serialized on the Weekly Shōnen Jump, and as for the anime series, it started in 2004 before closing the curtains in 2012. For the 20th anniversary of the manga, it would be having a special commemorative one-shot.

Weekly Shōnen Jump #36/37 will be having a special 73-paged commemorative chapter to celebrate the anniversary of the manga series as reported by Shonen Jump News. Since no other details were revealed, many are left to speculate what the story would be about.

Bleach follows teenager Ichigo Kurosaki who inherited the destiny of his parents he never saw coming – getting the powers of the Soul Reaper, a similar to the Grim Reaper, from one Rukia Kichiki. His new abilities allowed him to defend humanity from evil spirits and he also guides the souls of the departed to the afterlife bringing him to different ghostly realms of existence.
