While shounen anime like One Piece and Dragon Ball seem to stick around, a lot of old school otaku were big fans of Bleach by Tite Kubo. The last we saw of the anime was way back in 2012, and it never really got to finish its story. What's interesting is, news has it that Bleach is gearing for a comeback to the small screen.

Apparently it's been reported in Japan (via ComicBook) that Bleach anime is in the works, and it's set for a comeback in 2021, during its 20th anniversary. Check it out:

While the last of the anime we got was from 2012, the manga went on for a couple more years, ending in 2016. The final arc of the anime is said to be the Thousand-Year Blood War, and it's said to be the arc that's going to be covered with this next season.

We don't have an official announcement for the anime yet, but it was speculated that the reveal was supposed to take place in AnimeJapan 2020. With the Coronavirus Outbreak canceling everything though, it's said that Bleach will be holding a live stream panel this weekend.

High school student Kurosaki Ichigo is unlike any ordinary kid. Why? Because he can see ghosts. Ever since a young age, he's been able to see spirits from the afterlife. Ichigo's life completely changes one day when he and his two sisters are attacked by an evil, hungry and tormented spirit known as a Hollow. Right in the nick of time, Ichigo and his siblings are aided by a Shinigami (Death God) named Kuchiki Rukia, whose responsibility it is to send good spirits (Pluses) to the afterlife known as Soul Society, and to purify Hollows and send them up to Soul Society. But during the fight against the Hollow, Rukia is injured and must transfer her powers to Ichigo. With this newly acquired power, so begins Kurosaki Ichigo's training and duty as a Shinigami to maintain the balance between the world of the living and the world of the dead...

No official release date has been announced for Bleach, but we should expect the anime to come back in 2021.
