Although True Detective: Night Country seems like a supernatural series, it's actually more of a murder mystery-- a whodunit series with a dark and eerie feel to it. Let's talk about one of the likely suspects behind the murders of the Tsalal researchers: Blair in True Detective: Night Country.

In this explainer guide, we'll be talking about Blair Hartman and the theories avid fans of the show have on her. This article contains spoilers so if you haven't watched the show, you should skip this article for now.

Blair Hartman is one of the employees at the Blue King Crab processing facility. In the early episodes of True Detective: Night Country, we see Blair as a factory worker who is the victim of domestic abuse.

Even when she is at work, Blair's ex-boyfriend, Ace (played by Aron Már Ólafsson), abuses her.  After Chief Liz Danvers (played by Jodie Foster) arrested Ace, Blair moved in with Bee (played by Diane E. Benson).

Bee was also the one who helped protect Blair from Ace when he followed her into the factory and gave her a black eye. Bee hit Ace with a metal bucket, which knocked him out.

The character of Blair in True Detective: Night Country is portrayed by Kathryn Wilder.

In True Detective, Blair is called the three-fingered woman because of a workplace accident from several years ago. Blair lost the top of her ring and pinky finger.

What are the Fan Theories About Blair?

Because of the disfigurement on her right hand, many avid viewers of the show couldn't help but suspect Blair as the person Danvers is looking for.

One Reddit user shared that "the hand/fingerprints found at the corpsicle crime scene has two missing digits from someone's right hand."

This could pretty much mean that either Blair was behind it or she was somehow involved. Unless there will be another three-fingered woman that will appear later in the show.

Another fan theory goes back to the second episode when Danvers shows Bee about the spiral symbol in a photo. Bee says that this looks like "witchcraft" and motions to Blair, who denies seeing it.

This is another Easter egg pointing to the movie The Blair Witch Project, which had a twist ending.

Another fan responded to the Reddit thread and shared that it "would be too crazy if it was Blair" so this may be just a red herring.

We'll have to wait and see where Blair's angle leads us to.
