Original Blade Actor Disses the Upcoming MCU Reboot

Marvel Studios is currently deep into prepping for the new Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali which recently underwent some major changes due to the change of director. A lot of fans are looking forward to seeing what the vampire hunter's MCU debut will look like. However, there is one particular individual who is already slamming it.

Stephen Dorff, who played Deacon Frost in the original Blade film, slammed the MCU once again in a recent interview with The Daily Beast as he unapologetically mocked the upcoming MCU reboot and how it won't be on the same level as the film that he co-starred in.

First, the actor discussed his condition on starring in another comic book movie where he said he will do them if they "were more like when I started when we made Blade, or the few that have been decent over the years, like when Nolan did The Dark Knight and reinvented Batman from Tim Burton."

He continued, "All this other garbage is just embarrassing, you know what I mean? I mean, God bless them, they’re making a bunch of money, but their movies suck [laughs]. And nobody’s going to remember them. Nobody’s remembering Black Adam at the end of the day. I didn’t even see that movie, it looked so bad."

Dorff went on to diss the upcoming MCU reboot. "Marvel is used to me trashing them anyway," he said. "How’s that PG Blade movie going for you, that can’t get a director? [laughs] Because anybody who goes there is going to be laughed at by everyone, because we already did it and made it the best. There’s no Steve Norrington out there."

Considering that the actor has mocked the MCU before with the Scarlett Johansson-led Black Widow, it's not really surprising mock the franchise once again and, this time around, it's their reboot of the original film that he starred in.

Some fans have expressed their disdain for Dorff's recent comments since he previously co-starred with Ali in the fourth season of True Detective. Either way, the audience is still looking forward to seeing how this new take on the character will play and whether it can live up to the same level as the original.
