Blade Reboot: Mahershala Ali MCU Film Could Begin Production Soon

There is little doubt that people are already excited about the upcoming Blade reboot that will star Mahershala Ali as the new Daywalker. But when exactly is the new Marvel Cinematic Universe flick going to start production? There's a possibility that Ali could begin filming for the highly anticipated remake very soon.

The Phase Zero podcast reveals that the Blade reboot is already expected to begin production later this year. Murphy's Multiverse shares a similar report, stating that the new MCU flick will not wait until next year to start filming.

But why all the rush? It was previously reported that Blade could be one of the new Marvel films that will be released in 2022 along with Thor: Love and Thunder and Captain Marvel 2. This means that the reboot needs to start production within this year to be ready for a late 2022 premiere.

For now, Disney and Marvel Studios have not yet confirmed the Blade reboot's release date. In addition to that, Ali is the only star attached to the film although the creative team has been coming together quite well. Hopefully, we'll get a new update on the remake in the next few months.

The Blade reboot was announced during the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con along with the Disney+ shows WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Hawkeye. The latter of the three is already in production and there are speculations that the same could happen for Blade. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
