Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek will reprise their roles as Puss and Kitty. In addition to Florence Pugh and Harvey Guillén, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will feature the voices of Olivia Colman (The Favourite), Wagner Moura (Narcos), Ray Winstone (Black Widow), John Mulaney (Big Mouth), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Lost City), Anthony Mendez (Jane the Virgin), and Samson Kayo (Our Flag Means Death).

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will follow Puss as he realizes that he only has one life left. However, his nine lives can be restored if he could find the Wishing Star. Being careful not to lose his last life, Puss must call on the help of former ally Kitty. As the duo gain a new companion Perro, they must also go up against those who want the Wishing Star for themselves.

The second Puss in Boots film was initially set to be released in 2018 under a different title. However, the idea was scrapped and a new team was brought in to work on the script.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will drop its first trailer on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. The film is currently scheduled for release on September 23, 2022.
