Black Widow Standalone Movie Might Film In 2019

Marvel Studios is really thinking seriously about that Black Widow standalone movie they promised because it looks like the film already has a new production designer on board.

According to Omega Underground, Marvel has just hired Red Sparrow production designer Maria Djurkovic to work on the production design of one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's fiercest female superheroes, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

Djurkovic seems like a pretty good fit for Black Widow, after all, the production designer did just come fresh off the boat of Red Sparrow, an espionage film who's makings sound quite compatible with what could be a Black Widow story.

Though the studio hasn't given the Black Widow movie a production date just yet, speculation has it that a hired production designer could point to a potential filming start date next year. Marvel also has James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 scheduled to begin at the start of 2019. If the film and the Black Widow solo movie are shot in Pinewood Atlanta, then it is possible that Johansson's spinoff movie could begin shooting right after GOTG 3 during the summer of 2019.

Black Widow doesn't have a complete release date just yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
