Black Panther’s Angela Basset Teases The Return Of Killmonger

Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger might have died during the final arc of Black Panther, but it looks like T'Challa's (Chadwick Boseman) cousin just might find himself in the sequel.

Black Panther star Angela Basset recently attended the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards and during a red carpet interview, the actress teased the potential return of Killmonger in the film's upcoming follow-up movie.

Speaking in a short interview with Entertainment Tonight during the 2019 SAG Awards' red carpet event, Basset was asked by the entertainment news outlet if all of the original cast would return for Black Panther 2.

"I would assume so," Bassett replied.

At that point, her husband actor Courtney B. Vance, her date for the evening, barged in and told her to spill the beans.

"Yes, go ahead and say it, yes! Everyone will be there, including Michael B," Vance interrupted.

Could Vance have been serious about Jordan's return? Or could he had simply been exaggerating? What fans do have to remember is that they never really saw Killmonger getting buried in Black Panther last year. It's possible that Killmonger actually remains alive and well – Marvel does have the tendency to resurrect its popular characters. It happened for Loki (Tom Hiddleston) before. Why can't it happen for Killmonger?

Of course, Jordan's return doesn't necessarily mean the physical return of Killmonger. We may see the character in flashbacks or dream sequences. Who knows. There are a lot of ways to bring back Killmonger without necessarily raising him from the dead.
