Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is set to return in the highly-anticipated MCU sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The Kenyan-Mexican actress plays Nakia, a prominent figure in the Black Panther film, not just because of her romantic involvement with T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) but also because of her extraordinary skills as a Wakandan warrior.

Does Lupita Nyong'o Even Go To The Gym?

Playing a bad-ass warrior assassin, fans must have assumed that she undergoes a rigid training regimen before joining the MCU. However, the actress recently revealed that her workouts don't really require her to be in the gym.

“For me, working out is very much a part of my mental health regimen. I find that I grow very lethargic when I don’t work out, and it changes my mood. For my own sake, and the sake of the people who I’m hanging out with, it’s better if I work out. It’s about caring for yourself.”

The actress encourages fans to work out using their body weight.

“I’ve come to realize that working out does not require a gym. You can work out with your body weight, which I love.”

The actress noted that she finds ways to do some easily achievable workouts, including playing tag with her friends to get "[her] heartbeat going."

"Personally, if I find ways to make my workouts easily achievable, it’s more likely I will commit to them. I have a jump rope that I love to use. I think moving is important.”

The Next Black Panther!

Regardless of how she trains, Nyong'o is unquestionably fitting for the role of Nakia. Fans have loved her character since her debut in 2018s Black Panther. While Wakanda Forever intends to pay tribute to Marvel veteran Chadwick Boseman, fans have been speculating that she is the chosen successor to carry on the Black Panther mantle, aside from T'Challa's sister, Shuri, played by Letitia Wright. To add even more anticipation to the film, Nyong'o recently opened up about the "therapeutic" experience of filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and that it would "blow people’s minds."

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11.
