Black Panther 2 Will NOT Use Digital Double to Replace the Late Chadwick Boseman

There is little doubt that the passing of Chadwick Boseman is one of the saddest moments of the year. However, it has also led to fans wondering what will happen in Black Panther 2 especially since T'Challa will not be recast. Interestingly, it has just been confirmed that the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flick will not feature a digital double of Boseman.

Marvel Studios EVP Victoria Alonso recently spoke to Clarin where she revealed that there are no plans to use a digital double of Boseman in the future.

"No. There's only one Chadwick, and he's not with us," Alonso stated. "Our king, unfortunately, has died in real life, not just in fiction, and we are taking a little time to see how we return to history and what we do to honor this chapter of what has happened to us that was so unexpected, so painful, so terrible, really."

Alonso then added that the studio is still considering how to move forward with the project.

"Because Chadwick was not only a wonder ... but it also seems to me that as a character what he did elevated us as a company, and has left his moment in history. I know that sometimes two months go by or three months go by in production and one says, already, it was a long time," she said. "But it is not a long time, we have to think carefully about what we are going to do, and how, and think about how we are going to honor the franchise."

For now, it is unclear what will happen in Black Panther 2. However, fans can rest assured that Marvel Studios will eventually find a way to continue with the story and still honor what Boseman has done for the first movie.
