It's been close to a year since the untimely passing of Black Panther actor Chadwick but a lot of fans are still mourning the incredible loss. The massive void he left in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be hard to fill but Marvel Studios is ready to move forward with the Black Panther franchise without him. Now, we still don't know which MCU character becomes the official successor to the Wakandan throne and the Black Panther mantle.
Some fans have expressed their desire to see a new actor take on the T'Challa role and continue the legacy Chadwick started. However, Kevin Feige previously confirmed that Marvel Studios has no plans whatsoever of recasting the late actor. It's worth noting that he didn't exactly go into detail as to how the sequel will address the fate of T'Challa so it still begs the question: has T'Challa actually departed to the astral plane?
The leaked set video from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's filming may have spoiled how the MCU will be addressing T'Challa's absence. According to Twitter user @CreamOrScream, the location featured in the short clip could be the actual resting place of the former King of Wakanda. The account also notes that the columns are seen on the video feature Wakandan text that translates: "TCHALLA, OUR HERO, TWAS AN HONOR, WAKANDA FOREVER".

The project is still shrouded by mystery but one thing's for sure, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be an emotional roller coaster ride. The idea of Boseman leaving the franchise permanently is still a tough pill to swallow but I'm pretty sure he'd like for everyone involved in the sequel to continue.
