The untimely death of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman not only left a massive void in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also changed the long-term plans Marvel Studios had envisioned for the franchise. In fact, the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has apparently undergone several script rewrites over the last couple of months and it's safe to assume that everyone working on the film is having a hard time coming up with a brand new story.

The official cast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has yet to be announced but stars from the original film like Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, and Lupita Nyong'o are expected to reprise their roles in the sequel. However, according to ongoing "theories", one of the series' lead stars could end up getting recast in the project, and we're not talking about the late Chadwick Boseman.

TMZ suggests that Letitia Wright could be replaced in the sequel by actress Michaela Coel, who was recently confirmed to be joining Black Panther 2 in an undisclosed role. The entertainment site notes that the recent controversy surrounding Letitia's alleged support of anti-vaccination which sparked an outcry from fans last year could potentially lead to the actress being axed from the MCU.

Honestly, it's a little hard to believe considering earlier rumors claim that Shuri will officially become T'Challa's successor. Coel's involvement in the sequel doesn't exactly mean that Wright is out and for all we know, she could end up portraying a villain. But then again, someone like Gina Carano, who was previously employed by Disney was removed from the Star Wars franchise over a similar controversy.
