After having the title card revealed as Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever in Marvel's Celebration of Movies, its official synopsis logline has been released which centers on the place where our beloved T'Challa hails from.
Although some details are still in the shadows, the synopsis provides enough groundwork for a vast exploration that director and writer Ryan Coogler could play with. Given the title Wakanda Forever, the film could focus on different aspects of Wakanda like the factions it has, the group of warriors like the Dora Milaje and the War Dogs, and of course, the characters introduced in the place.
Below is the official synopsis:
Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will continue to explore the incomparable world of Wakanda, and all of the rich and varied characters introduced in the first film. Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, who was behind Black Panther, the film will be released on July 8, 2022.
Following the demise of Black Panther star, the late Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther 2 has to go to a redirection of almost everything especially given that they would not recast his character as paying respect. The loss of the titular character has broken many hearts including the cast and crew he worked with and they remember him the best way through reshaping Black Panther 2.
The working title of Black Panther 2 was revealed before as Summer Break where a lot of fans theorized it could focus on what happens during summer in Wakanda. Now that the throne and the mantle of Black Panther is open, people are rooting for T'Challa's younger sister, Shuri, to fill the role.
It has been reported that Ryan Coogler signed a five-year deal with Disney to explore Black Panther's World with a series about Wakanda on Disney+. Paying homage to the place which brought T'Challa into the MCU, Coogler remains faithful to the roots of the character.
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever premieres in theaters on July 8, 2022.
