It's no secret to a lot of people that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was plagued with several issues and setbacks over the course of its production. Just when fans thought Chadwick Boseman's untimely passing in 2020 would be the film's biggest challenge, Letitia Wright's alleged views against vaccination sparked a major outcry from fans, leading to the Shuri actress getting canceled at one point.

The 29-year-old star even made headlines last year for allegedly espousing her views on the set of the MCU epic. Soon after, reports of her suffering an on-set injury would surface, resulting in the film's production being halted temporarily. The situation fueled speculation that the Shuri actress was being reprimanded by Disney for her questionable views and that her injury was just a cover-up.

Now, Letitia's co-star Angela Bassett is breaking her silence regarding the issue. Speaking with Variety, the Queen Ramonda actress denied the controversial report first published by The Hollywood Reporter, noting that she never heard her co-star discuss the matter during filming.

Marvel Studios executive Nate Moore says they didn't know where the rumor came from, adding that he'd be among the first to know about it if it was actually true. He explains: "It’s not a question we asked of anybody, to be quite honest. She never talked about her views either way. We read the stories that I would argue were unfair because I don’t know where they’re coming from. As someone who literally is on set next to the monitor all the time, I feel like I would have heard it."

When the report was first published, Wright cried foul and denied ever causing trouble or stirring controversy on the set of Wakanda Forever. I guess there was never any truth to her anti-vax controversy and if anything, it was all blown out of proportion. Well, either that or Disney was able to immediately iron out the situation.

Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits cinemas this November 11th.
