It's no secret to a lot of fans that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever didn't have a smooth-sailing production. In fact, aside from the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, the Marvel Cinematic Universe project faced several production delays during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. On top of that, one of the film's lead stars Letitia Wright sustained an injury late last year that halted filming for a while.
If you've been closely following the sequel, you're well aware that Wright's alleged anti-vax views also became a problem for everyone involved. Rumor has it that the Shuri actress was espousing her views against COVID-19 vaccines on the set of Wakanda Forever and it quickly spread like wildfire with some fans pressuring Disney into ousting Wright from the project.
Shockingly, the House of Mouse never addressed the matter although Letitia has gone on record to deny the accusations thrown at her. Now, a new report pretty much confirms that Wright's stand on COVID-19 vaccines nearly sabotaged the film's production.
Speaking with "The Town with Matt Belloni podcast, Deadline senior reporter Justin Knoll said that production for the anticipated MCU film was "absolutely disrupted by some of the stuff [Letitia Wright did]". Knoll didn't go into detail about what the actress did but his statement seems to imply that there's more to it than just her anti-vax views.

Obviously, Letitia is still involved in the film and judging by the stuff we saw from the trailer, it's almost safe to say that she'll play a bigger role in the sequel. However, it's evident that a lot of folks still haven't forgotten about her anti-vax controversy and it'll be interesting to see how Disney deals with it during the film's press tour.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11, 2022.
