Shuri is currently considered the smartest person in the MCU considering her knowledge of making advanced techs at a very young age and, so far, it looks like not a lot of characters around will challenge that title. However, a new character that will be introduced in the upcoming movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever might now end up taking that title instead.

Speaking recently with Gizmodo, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore discussed the importance of introducing Dominque Thorne's Riri Williams in the new film as well as her intellect compared to the other characters that are considered as the smartest in the MCU.

"l think it was important to introduce her here because, a couple of things... she’s a character, thematically, who has experienced loss in her path with her stepfather passing away. We love the idea of of her as a African American woman in America, sort of encountering Wakanda," he said.

"She has a different point of view than Killmonger but there’s a similar notion of seeing something that maybe had been lost. And we love the idea of a woman who is potentially as smart as Shuri, but has such a different experience with that intelligence. And I think that made her kind of undeniable as part of the fabric of the movie."

It is interesting to hear that Riri Williams is going to be introduced as someone who is as smart as Shuri which alone is an exciting prospect for the character that is expected to be a major presence in the MCU moving forward. It also gives us an idea of how pivotal she can be in the story of the upcoming film.

While we don't know if Riri will end up becoming the smartest character in the MCU considering that Reed Richards will arrive in the main MCU proper soon, nevertheless, it sounds like the character is going to have an awesome presence and might end up becoming a fan-favorite as well.
