Created by Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror showcases mind-blowing science fiction stories in a Twilight Zone-style format, featuring talented stars, resulting in one absolutely unique experience. Booker first created the series for Channel 4 before making its way to Netflix for Seasons 3-5. Netflix also released an interactive film Bandersnatch, and the entire series has seen an impressive line-up of big name stars, including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Oona Chaplin, Haley Atwell, Domhnall Gleeson, Miley Cyrus, Letitia Wright, Hannah John-Kammen, Jesse Plemons, Will Poulter, among others.

No, as of right now, there are no clear signs that Black Mirror Season 6 will arrive on Netflix in 2022. Since Netflix hasn't officially ordered new episodes for Black Mirror yet, it's unlikely that the show will return in 2022, but the streaming giant hasn't cancelled the show either, so expect Black Mirror Season 6 to come eventually. Fans will just have to wait longer.

In January 2020, Charlie Brooker and Annabell Jones, the original showrunners of Black Mirror, announced they were departing the show's production company with Endemol Shine group owning the rights to the show. Since then, Brooker and Jones have formed a new production company called Broke and Bones, which has a deal with Netflix for other projects.

Right now, since Endemol still holds the rights to Black Mirror, Brooker and Jones can't continue to make more episodes of Black Mirror, but in the summer of 2019, Banijay Group purchased Endemol. Cathy Payne, head of Banijay's distribution department, told Variety that there's a chance Black Mirror Season 6 could be released in the near future. Given the popularity of the show, it's likely that Netflix and Banijay will revive Black Mirror with new episodes.

The creators were optimistic about the future of the series after Season 3 premiered on Netflix. During an interview with Yahoo, Charlie Brooker said that, "maybe we should cast someone like Barack Obama, he’d be good.”

Black Mirror's future seems to depend on the creator's ability to make new stories. Brooker also said, “I imagine if we run out of ideas, we will stop.”

Although Black Mirror hasn't officially been renewed or confirmed by Netflix, there's a good chance that the sci-fi anthology show will return in the near future. Epicstream will keep you updated with the latest information once they come.
