Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is finally making his comic book film debut this year via the standalone Black Adam movie which has been in development since 2007. Considering the grueling process that went with the creation of the project, the fans' expectation is unsurprisingly off the charts.

Obviously, Johnson is well aware of it and he plans on making Black Adam the biggest and most must-see superhero film this year. Over the weekend, the former WWE superstar dropped a major tease regarding Superman's potential appearance in the film which would set up a colossal big-screen clash between two of the most powerful beings in the DC universe.

While Dwayne didn't mention names, fans quickly assumed that the 49-year-old actor was actually dropping hints that Henry Cavill will finally be making his long-awaited DCEU comeback. Well, that doesn't seem to be the case.

According to insider MyTimeToShineHello, Black Adam's Superman cameo isn't going to feature the return of Henry Cavill and much like the Man of Steel's last two appearances in the franchise, the character will be "faceless" and be portrayed by a stand-in actor.

If you may recall, Superman made cameo appearances in 2019's Shazam! and most recently, in James Gunn's Peacemaker series. As it stands, nothing has been officially confirmed yet so of course, take this rumor with a grain of salt.

I guess Cavill's time in the DCEU may be over after all and despite the fan movement to have him return, it doesn't look like Warner Bros. and DC Films have any plans of bringing him back which is still baffling considering he was never officially ousted from the franchise to begin with.

DC's Black Adam is scheduled for theatrical release on October 21, 2022.
