Black Adam Will Launch More Spinoff Films According to Dwayne Johnson

Black Adam will not just be an introduction of Dwayne Johnson as the titular new hero in the DCEU, but it will also bring the Justice Society of America to their first big-screen appearance. As the film is expected to be a major part of the franchise, it looks like it's also going to be a launchpad for potential spinoffs of the other characters.

In a recent interview with Total Film (via Games Radar), Johnson discussed their ambitious plans for Black Adam including the possibility of doing spinoff projects for the other characters and expanding the DCEU franchise even further using this film.

"The goal is to really expand the universe, and introduce new characters, and spin-off, and be really strategic about the plan," Johnson said. "We have a few ideas of what characters people are really going to respond to in Black Adam, and so we’re already thinking ahead to: 'Let’s start thinking about that movie, and what that movie looks like for them.'"

However, Johnson's ambition for his newfound turn in the DCEU franchise goes beyond the wall as he also aspires that they will hopefully cross paths with the characters in the MCU someday.

"I am optimistic. Just my nature is optimistic. And especially when it comes to creative. Especially when it comes to movies," the actor said with a smile. "And especially when it comes to the pantheon of DC superheroes and supervillains. Across the street, we have the pantheon of superheroes and supervillains of Marvel. To me, they can not only exist, but they should, in my mind, cross paths one day."

Based on Johnson's comments, you can really tell that they have a lot of ambitions for Black Adam and how they can reinvigorate the DCEU franchise moving forward using his character. It would be interesting to see if it would also intertwine with Warner Bros.'s new ten-year plan for the franchise.
