I believe it goes without saying that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is the perfect choice to breathe life into Black Adam on the big screen and everything about him — from his charisma to his chiseled physique screams the character. However, as excited as Johnson was playing the Man in Black, there's one aspect to the role that he wasn't entirely too fond of.

Turns out, the former WWE superstar hated the way his original Black Adam costume was tailored, and shockingly enough, the first suit he wore was actually a padded costume. Of course, padded suits are no longer new in the world of superhero films and it has even become a standard for some production companies but given the fact that The Rock is a mountain of a man, he obviously didn't need the help of a padded suit to look imposing as he already is.

Speaking with Total Film Magazine (via CBR), the star of Netflix's most-watched film Red Notice shared his initial thoughts on being given a padded costume. He said: "These are the best costume-makers in the business, who have done all the most amazing costumes. They’re so talented. They come over to the house. I put it on. And I fucking hate this costume. Everything was padded. So they immediately start tearing and cutting and ripping. When I put that costume on the second time with no padding, just cut in a way where it was enhancing the work that I had put in – I felt... I’m Black Adam."

I mean, I don't know what Black Adam's costume designers were thinking when they made Johnson's original suit but clearly, a guy like him doesn't need extra help looking menacing. Thankfully, The Rock got what he wanted in the end and while some may think that it's just a minor thing, a costume is an integral part of any superhero flick.

Black Adam is scheduled for release on July 29, 2022.
