Black Adam Projected to Be Dwayne Johnson's Biggest Opening Weekend

Black Adam is now gearing up for its release in theaters in just a few weeks. The team behind the film has been hyping up its release as it will mark Dwayne Johnson's highly-anticipated debut in the franchise after several years of being attached to play the role and they are hoping that his star power will bring people into theaters to see him play the newest DCEU hero.

Now, according to a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter, Black Adam is currently being projected to earn between $70 million to $75 million in its domestic opening weekend. If the tracking ends up happening, it will be the biggest opening in Johnson's career outside the Fast and Furious films.

The DCEU film's potential numbers are similar to the performance of Venom in 2018 where it opened with $80 million. While this is lower than some of the superhero films, it should be noted that the box office is still in pandemic recovery mode.

This tracking report is a sign that the film is very likely to be a box office success which will be good news for Warner Bros. and their DCEU franchise considering the performance of some of the previous films. It also shows that Johnson's star power might indeed be a factor in bringing the people to see the film.

Obviously, its overall box office performance still remains to be seen. If the audience ends up liking the film and give it a word of mouth, it could be a huge global box office success which will also be another good news for the studio.

Right now, things are looking good for Johnson's highly-anticipated debut in the DCEU and it could potentially lead to his character's larger presence in the franchise moving forward.
