Warner Bros. seems to be going ahead with the long-rumored Birds of Prey movie, which has Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie attached to it. It seems like the studio is hoping to get more characters who are associated with the long-running DC series, with plans to cast both Black Canary and Huntress. A new report has suggested that Warner Bros. already have actresses eyed for these roles and we're going to discuss them now.
According to Comic Book Movie, the studio wants to get Jodie Comer or Vanessa Kirby for Black Canary, while Alexandra Daddario is being eyed for Huntress. Daddario is the biggest name here but the other two actresses have also been seen recently, with Kirby in particular starring in Mission Impossible: Fallout as the White Canary.
They are all pretty good actresses and it will be interesting to see if any of them are going to be chosen when it's all said and done. Talks with Daddario are expected to start soon while there has been no word on whether Comer or Kirby are interested in the Black Canary role. Only time will tell at this point.
Having a Birds of Prey movie without Barbara Gordon is a bit odd, though there are rumors that she will be around as Oracle, implying that The Killing Joke happened in this universe. It's even odder having Harley Quinn in the spotlight here since she never joined the group in the comics.
No release date for Birds of Prey has been revealed.
