Suicide Squad Director David Ayer Has Met With Gotham City Sirens Creator Paul Dini

With DC's Birds of Prey movie becoming more of a reality, fans have wondered about the status of the Gotham City Sirens film. Supposedly directed by Suicide Squad's David Ayer, this would star Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy as anti-heroes. Though they haven't had a series post-New 52, the title that starred this trio was pretty popular for a while before Flashpoint happened.

Turns out that Ayer has recently met with Gotham City Sirens co-creator Paul Dini, who is a pretty big name in geekdom. Aside from the Sirens title, he was also a showrunner for Batman: The Animated Series and wrote a number of DC comics like Batman: Streets of Gotham and Zatanna.

Considering who Ayer met with, it's easy to assume that they discussed the Sirens property in some form or fashion. It could also be related to Harley Quinn since Dini also co-created the Gotham anti-hero. Either way, we can all assume that Ayer's future with DC isn't over by a longshot and he will likely still work on something Sirens-related.

Birds of Prey is currently in development and could start shooting soon, especially since they finally decided on a shooting location. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that a Gotham City Sirens film could come afterward.
