Birds of Prey Star Claims the Film is Unlike Any Other Comic Book Movie

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) already has one of the more unique titles in superhero film history but that might not be the only unique thing about it. Some would argue the fact that its an all-female superhero group is pretty different in of itself, and they're probably correct, but Huntress actress Elizabeth Winstead told Total Film (via GamesRadar) that the movie is nothing like any other comic book film.

Is that a good thing though? Let's hope so.

During the interview, Winstead had a lot of positive things to say about the upcoming DC movie, saying that she had a lot of fun and how they did a lot of things that have yet to be seen in the comic book movie genre. We'll have to wait and see if that's a good thing but it does sound pretty ambitious.

Then again, that title is already pretty ambitious and weird.

Here's what she had to say:

"You can expect something really fun and a bit wild and totally unique. Every day we were there, we were doing something that just felt really weird and unlike anything else I've seen before in this genre. It was incredibly exciting to get to do that. We really got to work. We just played, and we had fun."

We sure hope she's right since the current state of DC movies is pretty odd. While Joker looks like an amazing (and controversial movie), "good" DC films like Aquaman, Shazam!, and Wonder Woman are pretty average when compared to the best Marvel movies. However, the Birds of Prey movie ends up being, here's hoping that it has an identity of its own.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) comes out on February 7, 2020.
