So far, Wonder Woman has been the only successful DC film in the box office, and it would make sense that WB would want to bank in on more superheroine lead movies. Pre-production is still ongoing for the Birds of Prey project, but rumor has it that the movie has already found its huntress.
According to an IMDb cast listing (via Heroic Hollywood), Francesca Ruscio has been cast as Helena Bertinelli a.k.a. The Huntress. Of course, some people still doubt the legitimacy of her inclusion in the cast. After all, someone being cast as a new superheroine might merit a bigger announcement and not just an update on the film's IMDb page.
So far, the only confirmed cast member for this movie is Margot Robbie who is reprising her role of Harley Quinn. In Birds of Prey, Harley will be joined by the likes of Black Canary, The Huntress, Det. Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain. There are also loose rumors that Barbara Gordon will make an appearance, but nobody is expecting her to put on the Batgirl costume.
Hopefully we get a full cast for the film before the year ends. God knows we need some more updates on these DCEU movies. Maybe we might even get our first look at Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker.
Birds of Prey has no specific release date, but the movie could come out in 2020.
