Billy Dee Williams Defends Mark Hamill And Controversial Star Wars Reunion Post

Social media can be a tricky thing. Although fans are usually loving Mark Hamill's jokes on Twitter, there is one post that has been somehow controversial because its message was misinterpreted. Nevertheless, Hamill's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker co-star Billy Dee Williams is ready to defend his friend and perhaps throw in a few jokes of his own.

Hamill had previously shared a Photoshopped image that reunited Luke Skywalker with Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Lando Calrissian. The Star Wars actor had simply added the hashtag #MissedOpportunities to his post. Needless to say, several fans called Hamill out for once again pointing out the mistakes of the current trilogy and adding fuel to the flames that have kept fans divided.

Hamill has since apologized for the post (sort of) and it didn't take long before Williams decided to step in with his own opinion about the tweet.

"@HamillHimself ....you should be used to getting everyone's knickers in a twist……part of your charm man!" Williams wrote.

It's certainly a hilarious reaction to Hamill's post but one that rings true. Perhaps fans should stop taking his posts too seriously and simply have fun.

Williams will be returning as Lando Calrissian in Rise of the Skywalker. Although this means he could spend some time with Hamill on the set, it is still unclear if Lando will have some scenes with Luke Skywalker. Either way, we're just happy that two of the beloved characters from the original trilogy will return this December.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on December 20.
