Star Wars: Mark Hamill Responds To Criticism For #MissedOpportunities Post

You would think that people have already gotten used to Mark Hamill trolling them on Twitter yet here we are. The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor was recently criticized for sharing a fan-made photo and claiming that it was a missed opportunity. Now Hamill has offered an explanation on why he posted the picture in the first place.

Hamill had previously shared a Photoshopped image created by @StevenWayneArt. The photo features Hamill's Luke Skywalker along with Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Leia Organa (the late Carrie Fisher). The star of The Rise of Skywalker also added an interesting hashtag to his post. Take a look at the tweet below.

Needless to say, Star Wars fans weren't happy with the #MissedOpportunities hashtag. Some pointed out that Hamill was giving people another reason to hate on the new trilogy and "fanning the flames" that has divided the Star Wars fanbase.

In response to the criticism, Hamill decided to share the photo again, but this time with the Joker standing with the heroes and brandishing a lightsaber. He then posted a short explanation of why he posted the image in the first place.

"Saw a pic of me with Billy D, Carrison & Harrie. Posted it because
I miss them. Nothing more, nothing less. I love the new cast too & didn't mean to get everyone's knickers in a twist," Hamill wrote. He then decided to poke some fun on people who were taking his tweets a little too seriously.

"Maybe I should've just posted a bunch of #Endgame spoilers instead," he added before finally adding the hashtag #RelaxAndHaveFunPeople.

It's no secret that Hamill is unhappy about Luke and Han's fate in the new trilogy considering it would mean the original trio will not be able to reunite onscreen. However, this should be a reminder that Hamill has already moved on from that so-called "missed opportunity" and simply enjoys sharing photos that make him happy.

Hamill will return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which hits theaters on December 20.
