Bill Burr had to Stop Himself Laughing When Working on The Mandalorian

Comedian Bill Burr has admitted that he has spent years trashing on Star Wars and its fanbase, so you can imagine everyone's surprise when he ended up as a character in Disney+'s highly-acclaimed The Mandalorian. As it turns out, even on set Burr couldn't take the show seriously, and had to stop himself laughing during rehearsals.

Talking to Pardon My Take, Burr tells the story of how he tried to rehearse with co-actors Natalia Tena and Clancy Brown and had to control himself because he couldn't take any of the dialogue seriously. The story starts at 2:55:

"You know when you're in the room and only you find something funny, so you can't laugh? They were just sort of saying all this space shit to each other and I kind of had to look down for a second and regroup. For half a second, I was like, ‘I'm on f*ckin' Fraggle Rock.' What am I doing here?"

Also, it's worth noting that the ‘Brendan' in the story is Brendan Wayne, who is Pedro Pascal's body double on the show.

Though Burr had initially thought the show was stupid, he had eventually started taking things seriously when the cameras started rolling. Admittedly, Burr's portrayal was very on point in the show, and he fits right in with all the other bounty hunters, even delivering some of the best lines of the episode.

Fortunately for Burr fans, his journey with Star Wars doesn't stop at the first season; and he's set to make a return for Season 2 of Mando. We don't have the official release date yet, but expect The Mandalorian to return to Disney+ this coming October.
