Longtime Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis has promised that his upcoming storyline for Invincible Iron Man is the biggest ever for the character. The renumbered InvincibleIron Man #593 will have Iron Heart Riri Williams team up with Victor Von Doom to discover the fate of Tony Stark, who disappeared during the events of Marvel Legacy #1 despite being in a comma.
On Twitter, a fan asked the writer if the current arc will be about Tony and Riri. Bendis was vague, saying that the story would involve all the major Iron Man characters coming together for the big arc. With Invincible Iron Man #600 on its way, expect a big revelation for everyone involved and much more.
Tony Stark has been comatose after the events of Civil War 2, though an AI with his personality has been active. Said AI has been mentoring Riri Williams and even battled the evil Steve Rogers during Secret Empire. Now that we know Tony Stark is returning, it will be interesting to see how the arc brings him back.
Invincible Iron Man #593 is slated for an October release. It will be the first part of the "biggest Iron Man story ever," according to the writer.
