Marvel Announces New X-Men Comics: ‘Rogue & Gambit’ And ‘Legion’

Ahead of New York Comic-Con, Marvel have announced two new X-Men books coming in January: Legion and Rogue & Gambit. Unfortunately, no other details were given aside from covers for the new comics. With New York Comic-Con coming up, there is a good chance that we will find out more details in that event's X-Men panel.

The X-Men have been part of a resurgence in comics lately, thanks to the RessurXion line that consists of quality titles like X-Men: Blue, X-Men: Gold, Iceman and Generation X among others. Expanding on that line with these titles is an interesting move and should get X-fans talking about the con. It's nice seeing the X-Men line get more love, after years of seemingly being neglected by Marvel.

Rogue & Gambit can be seen as an extension of the Marvel Legacy line since the two mutants are considered a classic couple. The two haven't dated in a while, so seeing them together in a title like this should give X-Men fans warm and fuzzy feelings. Both characters are currently part of Astonishing X-Men, so the premise of this title could spin off from that comic.

Legion is an interesting addition since we haven't seen the character for some time. The character was the lead in the last iteration of X-Men: Legacy, but he hasn't appeared since. Given the popularity and acclaim of the Legion television show, it likely had a role in this new series.

Both comics will be available in January. Expect more details in New York Comic-Con.
