After T.O.P left YG Entertainment earlier this year, Daesung and Taeyang followed suit. The BigBang members’ contracts with the company have already expired, and the three have decided not to renew their deals, while G-Dragon is reportedly still negotiating.

News about Daesung’s decision to part ways with YG broke out on Monday, December 26. After Taeyang signed with TheBlacklabel, the label initially announced it was still discussing the possibility of renewing the contracts of G-Dragon and Daesung until the latter officially decided to leave.

Daesung Left YG Entertainment

On the same day, YG released a statement about Daseung’s departure.

“Daesung has decided to end his contract with us,” it said via Soompi. “He’s looking for a fresh start.”

However, though he’s no longer part of the company, he will remain a member of BigBang.

“The fact that Daesung is a BIGBANG member has not changed,” it continued. “We support Daesung’s choice and new start, and we are always open to cooperating with him.”

Taeyang Signs with TheBlacklabel

Taeyang now has a new label after signing with TheBlacklabel.

“Artist Taeyang has joined THEBLACKLABEL,” the company announced on December 26.

“After working together as producer and artist for a long time, Producer Teddy and artist Taeyang are taking on a fresh start at THEBLACKLABEL based on their musical trust in one another,” it continued. “THEBLACKLABEL will provide our full support for Taeyang to carry out diverse musical activities more actively.”

It also asked fans to “look forward to the musical synergy Taeyang will achieve” with the company.

On the other hand, YG confirmed Taeyang’s departure and cleared he, too, would remain a BigBang member and a part of the YG family.

“We know that many are waiting for BIGBANG’s activities, so we will work together for this,” it stated.

As for G-Dragon, YG revealed it’s “still in the midst of contract negotiations.”

T.O.P Left YG Entertainment in February

Amid the news of BigBang’s comeback earlier this year, T.O.P parted ways with YG in February after 16 years.

“T.O.P’s exclusive contract with YG has ended, and he will be taking on a wide variety of new challenges as both an artist and an entrepreneur,” the label announced. “We respected T.O.P’s desire to broaden the scope of his individual activities aside from just his promotions with BIGBANG, and he successfully came to an agreement about this with the other members.”

Just like Daesung and Taeyang, T.O.P remains a BigBang member.

“As long as the conditions are right, [T.O.P] will always participate in BIGBANG’s activities whenever he is able,” it continued.
