Big Mouth Season 3 Officially Coming in October

Netflix may have canceled Tuca & Bertie, but they're moving forward with the gross-out coming-of-age series Big Mouth. The show has been renewed for three more seasons by the streaming service, and we just got a release date for Season 3.

This was shared by co-creator Nick Kroll on Twitter:

While the first season dealt with Hormone Monsters alone, Big Mouth Season 2 gave us a look at all these other "creatures" standing in for the pangs of puberty like the Shame Wizard and the Depression Kitty. We don't really know what's in store for the third season, but I imagine it's going to keep delving into the lives of Nick and his friends and how they're all dealing with growing up. Maybe at some point, we could actually see a redesign as the characters grow closer to adulthood.

With BoJack Horseman delving into existentialism and depression, I have to say Big Mouth is definitely one of the more clever shows on Netflix. The gross-out humor and character designs may not be for everyone, but I really appreciate how accurately it depicts the problems of puberty, no matter how ugly it can get. With the whole issue of sex usually being brushed under the rug, Big Mouth unapologetically cannonballs into the topic, and we get some great insights that I feel not every parent or teacher could delve into.

Hopefully, we get a full trailer soon.

Catch Big Mouth Season 3 when it comes out on Netflix Oct. 4.
