Big Bang has now dropped its comeback single, “Still Life,” and T.O.P seems to hint that it will be his last group activity for a long while. The rapper posts a message on Instagram, appearing to say goodbye to YG Entertainment and looking forward to his return.

T.O.P’s cryptic post comes after Big Bang dropped “Still Life” on April 5. After leaving YG and planning to go solo, what’s next for the 34-year-old K-pop star?

Big Bang T.O.P Writes Message for Fans

T.O.P wrote a message for his fans in English, thanking them for their continuous support for the past 16 years. Though it seems goodbye, he asks his followers to wait for his “new turning point.”

He said,

“Finally, the music is out. I wouldn’t be here without all of YG staff’s help. Thank you all for the last 16 years. It means a lot to me. I’m thinking I might be going through another important turning point of my life at the moment.”

He added,

“I look forward to the day when I’ll be able to come back as a man of inspiration in the near future. I’m utmost grateful for my fans. Once again, Thank you.”

Though it’s not confirmed, Koreaboo noted fans believed his post had something to do with his “last comeback for a very long time.” It was noted he had already said something like this before.

For starters, he told Prestige magazine in March that he was trying to find and focus on himself as a musician.

“From the beginning, I’ve always shared with my fans that I’m fully proud that I am T.O.P of Big Bang, but in the last few years, I was starting to think that maybe this was the end, and maybe there won’t be T.O.P of Big Bang for a while,” he said.

He also revealed that other group members, G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang, had grown a lot during their hiatus. They now have different tastes in music, priorities in life, and goals they were trying to pursue.

“Over those five years, our music tastes and activities probably differed a lot, and now Big Bang music and T.O.P’s music are quite different,” he continued. “I’m at the stage in my life where I want to awaken to fresh new challenges, stimuli, and transition.”

Big Bang’s Comeback Song

Big Bang finally returns to the spotlight after four years. The group dropped their new track, “Still Life,” on April 5, and it quickly topped the music charts and trended on different social media platforms.

Hype Beast noted it was in March when rumors about G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung filming for a new music video emerged. YG then dropped some teasers for the then-upcoming release.

It also started a countdown on its website a day before it officially dropped the song.

“Still Life” is a gentle rock song. G-Dragon and T.O.P have contributed to the single’s lyrics and composition. As Big Bang celebrates the spring’s arrival, they all reminisce their youth, singing “goodbye now to my beloved young days.”
