Bethesda's Todd Howard on Complaints Regarding Numerous Skyrim Ports

There sure are a lot of Skyrim ports huh? Easily one of Bethesda's most popular games, it's safe to say that the fifth Elder Scrolls game has sold like pancakes and continues to do so now that it's been ported to a number of systems. Originally released on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, the game is now available on PS4, Xbox One, PS VR, and Nintendo Switch.

Even Bethesda is aware of the joke, releasing a parody trailer of Skyrim on Alexa during the E3 press conference. So the real question is why do they keep porting Skyrim to newer gaming systems?

According to Bethesda's Todd Howard, it's because people keep buying the ports. Revealed by Games Industry Biz, Howard said that millions of people still buy the game so if you don't want any more ports of it, stop buying it.

"Even now, the amount of people who play Skyrim seven years later; millions of people every month are playing that game. That's why we keep releasing it. If you want us to stop releasing it, stop buying it."

Now that we know The Elder Scrolls VI is coming out, these Skyrim ports could end up being a thing of the past. Granted, it's still part of the present and people still love the game, so we won't be in the past anytime soon.

Bethesda will be releasing Fallout 76 this November, so fans of the company will want to pick that up, assuming they aren't too busy with Skyrim.
