Ben Affleck’s Brother Says The DCEU Star Might Not Be Doing The Batman

Ben Affleck's brother says the DCEU star might not actually be suiting up as The Dark Knight in The Batman after all.

Speaking in an interview with WEEI Sports Radio to help promote his upcoming supernatural drama film A Ghost Story, Casey Affleck decided to open up about how he felt about his brother's performance in Warner Bros' burgeoning superhero franchise. Not only that, but Casey also hinted that Ben would be skipping Matt Reeve's The Batman.

"I thought he was an OK Batman. No, I thought he was great. He was great. He's a hero, so he had something to channel and work with there. But he's not going to do that movie, I don't think. Sorry to say. Is that breaking news? Because I was just kind of making that up, I don't know."

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Ben's participation in The Batman. The award-winning actor and director decided to step down from the director's seat of The Dark Knight's solo film earlier this year and the news got fans worrying that Ben would eventually decide to stop playing the DCEU's Batman.

This new bit from Casey is pretty alarming, adding fuel to the fire by feeding fan's anxieties. Luckily, the younger Affleck brother just might be fooling around, taking fans for a ride. He did say that he was "just kind of making that up."

We hope that's true – fans have been warming up to Ben's Batman, calling him one of the most comicbook accurate version of the caped crusader with his talented brooding.

Ben is to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in Justice League when it premieres on November 17.
