Kevin Smith Talked About Ben Affleck’s Emotional Wedding Vows For Jennifer Lopez

Just recently, Kevin Smith revealed that Ben Affleck wrote a 12-page wedding vow for Jennifer Lopez. The Hustlers star also wrote her vows for Affleck, but they weren’t as long as what the Batman v Superman star came up with.

“He’s one of my favorite writers on the planet. He wrote his vows — they [both] wrote their vows, but he wrote a big speech that he read to her at the wedding, which was breathtaking,” Smith said on The View (via Page Six).

He also said that he was happy for Affleck and Lopez because they both deserve each other.

“Even a cold-hearted robot would walk away from that ceremony like, ‘Oh my god, true love can happen. It was really a fairy-tale ending. And [Jennifer Lopez] has impeccable taste, the whole place looked amazing. She looked fantastic. They all looked fantastic,” he gushed.

Jennifer Lopez Shared Details From Her Wedding To Ben Affleck On Her Newsletter

Weeks after their wedding, Lopez shared some highlights from her big day via her newsletter On the J.Lo. She revealed that she walked down the aisle to the song “True Companion,” which was supposed to be their song if their wedding pushed through in 2004.

And when Lopez and Affleck’s respective children walked down the aisle, the song “The Things We’ve Handed Down” played in the background.

“The twenty years between those dreams of youth and the adult world of love and family we embraced that day, brought more to this marriage than either of us ever could have imagined. We weren’t only marrying one another; we were marrying these children into a new family. They were the only people we asked to stand up for us at our wedding party. To our great honor and joy, each one did. The truth is, I never had one doubt. All week I felt the calm and easy certainty that we were in God’s hands,” Lopez said.
